Picturing the Social: 2014 Conference

This inaugural conference for the Picturing the Social project was held at the University of Sheffield as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science. The conference involved speakers from different academic disciplines and industry, and addressed methodological and interpretative approaches to social media images as well as a range of relevant on-line visual cultures. Members of the lab gave the following presentations:

- Anne Burns – ‘Self(ie)-Control: Narratives of Photographic Restraint and the Regulation of Social Conduct’
- Simon Faulkner – ‘Thoughts on the ‘Thatcher Death Tweets”
